A small break from the onslaught comes through in “THE GIRL THAT SLEPT” where ethereal harmonies fight for dominance against dissonance. The track mourns the loss of not coming out sooner. The guilt, sorrow and shame for the child that didn’t get to live, the teenager that didn’t get to be free. Funereal lamenting vocals merge with dreamlike and ghostly melodies of grief.
lyrics
The girl that slept
Through all of her youth
While I lived the nightmare
Refused to see your truth
I left you for dead
Would not let you dance
I enforced your silence
I gave you no chance
You died so young
You fell asleep
I couldn’t wake you
Buried so deep
You died so young
You fell asleep
I couldn’t wake you
Buried so deep
I’m sorry I missed you
That we never met
I’m sorry I crushed you,
With fear and regret

I have the last couple of albums. They are great, but this one just smashes it. Dark, hard, but has such great flow. It really balances everything so well across the album. a fav listen. Imnotevans

What an absolutely beautiful album! This is what black metal really leads to; beautiful and powerful expressions of anger, mourning, and joy that lead to real change for those suffering! I can’t say enough good things about this album! The huge range of genres is incredible as well! deathmoth829
